Lotus flower: A symbol of purity and beauty
The lotus flower was specially chosen to reflect the ethos of Sole Touch, due to its rich symbolism. Often growing in murky ponds, the lotus flower nevertheless always emerges clean and pure – something exquisite in otherwise gloomy surroundings.
Everyone has beauty within them but the stresses of modern-day life often suppress our understanding of this and we get buried under our emotions and ailments. When we engage in complementary therapies such as reflexology however, we can transition – like the lotus flower – into something pure and untainted.
Reflexology relaxes the mind and body, letting them reconnect as one. It allows us to emerge from our own ‘muddy waters’, feeling refreshed and invigorated and able to see ourselves properly for perhaps the very first time.
With a lifelong interest in reflexology and its proven benefits, Kathleen spent the first 20 years of her career within the finance sector. During this time, she also completed her complementary therapy training, achieving a reflexology qualification in 2005, when she began practicing on a part-time basis. She therefore has more than 10 years’ experience in delivering complementary therapies, and has trained in several other areas, achieving a separate post-graduate fertility qualification along the way.
Working part-time at Ka-Toning in Cookstown from 2009, Kathleen also delivered her therapies in a local day-care cancer centre, providing administrative and fundraising support and giving talks to community groups. She then started Sole Touch Complimentary Therapy in 2013 and since then, has built up a good reputation, with many clients coming from ‘word of mouth’ recommendations.
Passionate about helping others, Kathleen loves hearing about her clients’ success stories of pregnancies and births after receiving therapies at Sole Touch, which she sees an added bonus to her work.
Offering friendly, professional and caring services in a confidential environment, Kathleen encourages her clients to ask questions, and will always share her expert knowledge. She also provides personalised therapy which is tailor-made to suit each client’s individual needs, addressing physical, emotional, mental and spiritual issues as required.
In her spare time, Kathleen relaxes with music and dancing, along with enjoy Tai Chi, which she incorporates into her community classes in the form of Chi Me. She also loves spending time with her children and grandchildren.
